Welcome to Casa d’Alte
Casa d’Alte is situated in the small authentic village Alte which is known for its splendid nature, a stunning waterfall, a popular springwater pool and its typical portugese architecture and street art. Alte is located in the Algarve Mountains at about 45 kms northwest from Faro. At Casa d’Alte we can host up to 10 people in our five rooms. We will be glad to meet you in the tranquility of our bed & breakfast at the heart of the Algarve.
Rooms at Casa d’Alte
We provide 5 double rooms for up to 10 guests. One Room can be conected to another room, so that you can book two rooms for up to 4 people, sharing one bathroom. All rooms are equipped with a double bed, a clothes rail, shelves and a seat. Each room has a private bathroom with toilet, shower and a hairdryer. We provide linen and towels. You will find a Fan in each room. There is no fridge and no aircondition.

This room with a queensize bed is ideal for a single person but can accomodate 2 guests as well. It is located in the old building with view to the courtyard. With its wooden ceiling it has a nice cosy atmosphere.
Superior double room

The superior rooms are bigger than the standard rooms. All have a view to the courtyyard and those located on the first floor a view to the Algarve mountains. The rooms on the first floor are sunsoaked and have altough a balcony.Â

2 adjacent rooms located in the old building can be combined to accomodate 4 guests in total. One room faces the Patio and the other one faces the church. The rooms share one bathroom. Both rooms have high wooden ceilings and a nice mediterranean atmosphere.

What’s so special about Alte
Although Alte is inland, it offers refreshing ways to cool off when temperatures rise into the 30s. One such spot is Fonte Grande, a riverside area fed by a natural spring. It is very popular with locals and offers a peaceful setting for picnics, walks and a dip in the water – a stark contrast to the crowded beaches teeming with sunburnt holidaymakers.
The waterfall is impressive: it plunges almost 24 metres from a cliff into a crystal-clear pool, which contrasts with the warm red and orange hues of the surrounding rocks and offers not only a welcome way to cool off but also a great photo opportunity. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a hot day in the Algarve without the usual tourist crowds.
The Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção: Founded in the 13th century, later rebuilt in the Manueline style, and renowned for its 18th-century tiles (azulejos) right next to Casa d´Alte.

- The next train station with connection to Lisbon is situated in Tunes.
- Local buses (Vamus Algarve) connect Alte to Loulé 2 or 3 times a day
